Terret Noir, a varietal many are unfamiliar with but are sure to love, is in great form in 2019. Bright red in color, with fruits of red currant, poached strawberries, and a touch of peach pit. A brambly, woody character develops in the glass, along with a fresh pink and red rose-like floral aroma. The wine finishes with a cured meat and herbaceous thyme flavor. This is another estate varietal that is gaining complexity as vine maturation continues.
Notes of fresh blueberries, raspberries, lavender, and pink peppercorn, some fertile soil undertones as well. This Syrah is de-stemmed, polished, with a bit more fruit than its whole cluster companion. A hint of oak adds a touch of vanilla and brown sugar to the long finish.
If you love Tuscan wine, you will love this! It took 5 years to finally release this reserve wine at its absolute peak. Tart and dried red fruits, raspberry, and red cherry as well as some poached strawberries are present. Lots of nonfruit, earthy tones are also present like leather, tobacco, fall leaves, and dried roses. The finish is long with a lingering touch of balsamic and toast. Truly exceptional and hard to believe this was produced locally.
Dried black cherry with fresh cranberry and notes of herbaceous flavors, including oregano and thyme. Dried carnations are present as florals, along with a prosciutto-like cured meat element. Finally, a delicate touch of cedar and baking spice arrives in the finish. A stunning pairing with marbled beef or charcuterie.
This wine offers a high-toned nose of tropical fruits, grilled pineapple, lemon, banana, key lime, lime blossom, and a touch of fresh cream. On the palate, the tropical fruit translates well - the creamy note turns nearly toward a toasted marshmallow-like finish in a dry fashion.
This Viognier vintage is showing its textbook high-floral aromatics with fresh gardenia and white potpourri. It features a kaleidoscope of bold, tropical fruits on the nose and palate including lychee, green mango, apricot, and citrus fruits. Finishing in a crystalline, quartz-like minerality, this wine is fresh, dry, and alive.
There is a brilliant fresh nose on this beautiful Mourvèdre. Tart red raspberries, blood orange rind, red plums, and wild berries are joined by fresh pink and purple flowers, wisteria, and lavender blossoms. These are followed by a light touch of herbal earth tones. This 2019 vintage is showing quite well, the more our vines mature the more complex these wines are becoming.
A richer style of Rosé, deep in color and very refined. The nose is rich with expressive red fruits like ripe cranberry, red and golden raspberry, and a touch of tart cherry. It has a floral medley of cherry blossom, elderflower, and pink roses. There is an essence of riverbed-like minerality. The palate is an explosion of mouth-watering red fruits, high-toned florals, and a plummy finish. This is a triumph in the Rosé department.
High toned, complex, and refined. Featuring just ripe red currant and blackberries, crushed black pepper, violets, and abundant with whole cluster evidence. The whole cluster style gives a greener, parsley and pine essence. Earthy tones persist on the palate with tapenade, finishing with a hint of coffee.
Macerated black plum, mulberry, dried violets, white pepper, and brine. With air, this highly concentrated wine opens to a delicate black olive flavor. A very refined, silky texture with a fine balance between fruit and earth.
A show-worthy vintage with classic Roussanne appeal. Round and textural, this wine shows Meyer lemon and pineapple fruit with saline, popcorn oil, and a brie cheese-like element. The fresh cream, flinty minerality, and a soy/umami tone make it very complex, much like a classic French rendition.
A bright wine, full of fresh green pear, honeydew, and lime zest. Flinty and mineral dominated, this also shows limestone and some white rose-like florals. This is a crisp wine perfect for just enjoying on a nice day or especially with an assortment of cheeses.
